Charities we support

... and you can too!

If you are reading this page, it is most likely because you’ve written a book or two… maybe even several. Whether it’s an action-packed fantasy, a spine-chilling horror, an emotionally-stirring poem, or even a helpful motivational guide, stories and their messages have connected humans around the world from the beginning of time -- long before they were written down or made into ‘books’.

It is an innate human desire to experience the wonder of seeking more… more knowledge, more possibilities, more realities, more lives, more places, more adventure, more thrills, more support, more entertainment, more comfort, more love… more experiences that shape their perspectives on life, about others, and of themselves.

Indie Diamond Book Awards is an ‘awards’ program seeking to recognize those who have shared their talents in touching this vital part of the human spirit, in one way or another. However, the real reward comes from realizing how authors’ words, their creations, their learned insight, and their own stories have the power to literally change a reader’s life— someone who they’ll never know or meet— and affect them in ways never imagined.

In short: Books … and stories… are magic.

It is in this spirit that we are excited to help contribute in our own small way of spreading some of this magic around, and to those who need it the most. Deciding this was the easy part. No-brainer. The toughest part by far is deciding which charities to donate to!  There are so many wonderful groups and amazing people out there doing incredible work advocating literacy education here in America and around the world.

After much thought, we have settled on a few that really connect with us here at IDBA for personal reasons.  More might possibly be added to this list in the future.

We encourage you to visit these and other sites supporting literacy and perhaps contribute in some way yourself.

Our Faves (In No Particular Order)

Little Free Library

Their motto is "take a book, share a book". We love it! So many cute 'library' designs and a charmingly easy way to spread some cheer!

Pajama Program

As seen on Oprah! Their motto is "Good Nights are Good Days", and we agree! Simple comforts can go a long way in improving the quality of a child's life. Getting into comfy jammies and curling up with a good book at night is the perfect way to end the day!

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

Inspired by her own father's illiteracy, she now has an incredible program that sends millions of books to young children in America and abroad all for free.

Thank you for being part of Indie Diamond Book Awards, and we sincerely appreciate your role in helping to make a positive difference in the lives of readers everywhere.
